Part 1 The textbook defines research as using an array of sources to come up with an answer to a question. “Redefining a question, knowing where to find sources, knowing how to evaluate good sources quickly”. They're saying you need to formulate a question and find sources to evaluate and use them to answer questions. I chose to evaluate McGonigals TED talk because it sparked my interest. The author dove into the question of how video games are beneficial. This is very important to the author because she is a game designer. “I've been making games online now for 10 years, and my goal is to try to make it as easy to save the world in real life as it is to save the world in online games”. She personally knows the benefits of games as she's been in the industry for 10 years and she sees the benefits and it's a passionate topic for her. This part spoke to me because I agree with her point. If we can master online games worldsaving, here has to be stuff we can bring into the world with us.
Part 2 A question I am interested in researching is what goes into the makings of fast street legal cars? What restrictions do they have to follow? What must they work around to have a race car on the street? This question came up in my love for fast cars. The engineering behind them always fascinated me and if I could dig deeper and explore how it's done it might lead me to a career in designing fast cars in the future.
